We are definitely a kinship that understands that real life comes first! I try to check the website every day, but I think it's been a couple of weeks now since I've made it into the game.

Hopefully, I'll have the worst of my RL stuff tied up within the next week or two and will be back to slaying orcs again with everyone.

Good luck with the school & sports!!! The exercise is definitely better for you than sitting in front of a computer for hours at a time anyhow. Happy Just be safe!

I'm glad there are no blockages. Have they done x-ray or MRI on your back since you did whatever to it? I know I can no longer have MRIs due to implants and don't know if the same might be true of you, but at least an x-ray should be a fairly cheap first step to rule out a breakage. If they haven't done that yet, then I'd have to agree with your assessment of your neurologists.

For back pain, I usually see my chiropractor. If there is anything new (and not just same old back pain), he always does x-rays and sometimes also MRI if he thinks anything looks strange in the x-ray before doing an adjustment or anything else. He actually found spinal cancer in a friend of mine who had been adjusted by other chiropractors already. My chiropractor ordered an MRI just after listening to her and sent her back to her primary with the results after he looked at the films and never actually touched her because he recognized it wasn't an alignment issue but something much more serious. However, her symptoms appeared slowly over time and not suddenly like yours seems to have been. I don't mean to suggest a cancer return but that chiropractors (the good ones anyhow) can be helpful.

Also, neurosurgeons are sometimes better with back pain than neurologists from my experience. In my town there is a difference. My neurologist wouldn't have a clue what to do about a broken back and would probably refer me to a neurosurgeon anyhow (or he'd do what yours seem to be doing which is very little or nothing which all of my docs seem to do these days with my current symptoms).

In the meantime, it couldn't hurt to ice your back. It can make it feel a little better and keeps inflammation down (unless your neuro pain makes the cold too intolerable which I'd understand also). If you decide to use heat, it should be moist heat as dry heat can make the joints hurt more but personally I'd wait until I knew what was going on before using heat on it. But then if you've been through a broken back before you probably already have a freezer half full of ice packs like I do. Happy

My thoughts & prayers are with you, Don.

I can understand. I tend to rant when my pain levels are high too. And I also agree about getting appointments with doctors, specialists in particular. It's tough. I tried to see a rheumatologist that I saw about five years ago and he has refused to ever see me again. No reason - just won't see me. And he doesn't even have to give a reason. And it took 3 months to get the 'no'. Unfortunately, I only have three to choose from with my insurance including him and none can help me. He was the one who is the fibromyalgia guru, and I have been diagnosed with fibro and the other docs don't seem to know what to do about it but I can't get in. It sucks, but what can you do?

there ought to be a public group or news people that could do something with the story but i never was in that crowd. the new gp i got read the reports from the cardilogest in wrong order. the first report was a stress test and it said i had a blockage in my main artery comming from my heart. they did a cardigram ran a camera in to my heart and found no blockages no clostral no nothing i might have a slightly weak muscle in back wall i might have a slightly enlarged heart but nothing was cirten. he read the stress and went berzerk on testing me for blockage of circulation and heart problems. after the tests were over and all came back neg. he hasent even called me to give me results. i wonder what his iq is 60 yr s ago mine was 145 i doubt his is that high. i wonder sometimes how they get to be doctors.

i notice only 3 of us are voting now are we doing any good?

tomorrow i will do it all again unless something changes.

Voting - I think a lot of us have just hit a busy point in life right now. I know that even though I usually hit this site every day, I think I sometimes have been forgetting to vote because my memory is just bad. We were never going to win first prize, but each vote gives us a chance to win one of the random drawing prizes for the GuildLaunch or Ventrilo subscriptions so we wouldn't have to pay for a year which would be nice since we currently pay for both of those services.

As for your doctor, ugh! My last primary doctor was also pretty awful. Thankfully, I seem to have a good and pro-active one now. In fact, he's better about calling for test results ordered by my specialists than the specialists who ordered the tests. I always hear from him any time anything is a bit off, and he has been repeating some blood work every few months because my inflammation markers have been high but not quite high enough to do anything about so he has been monitoring them to make sure they don't get out of control. I don't think I've ever had an IQ as high as yours was, but I do wonder sometimes how some of the doctors ever made it through medical school. However, I also think it takes more than just a high IQ to be a good doctor. Doctors need to learn to LISTEN to their patients, and so many of them don't seem to have that skill (at least from my experience).
